The Mystery Theatre series, Volumes 1 through 5, is a collection of radio plays written, adapted, produced and broadcast by the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), from 1966 to 1968. Carefully selected by Scenario Productions, these radio plays represent a small portion of the materials residing in the vast archives of the CBC. These radio plays have not been heard since their original broadcast dates. With your listening pleasure as our primary goal, Scenario Productions has chosen such reknowned authors and titles as "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe, "The Signal Man" by Charles Dickens, "Adventures of the Noble Bachelor" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, "The Sandman" by E.T.A. Hoffmann, and the "Twice Told Tales" by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Scenario Productions is also proud to present various Canadian authors and producers who have written original radio plays expressly for the CBC. Alan King's "The Hitch Hiker," Dorothy Davis' "Sight Unseen," Ted Ferguson's "A Perfectly Happy Life" and Otto Lowy's "Double Strip" are just a few examples of the excellent original Canadian radio plays contained in the Mystery Theatre series. CBC Radio Plays are great for Listening to on the road or at the cottage and are excellent for classroom curriculum support. |
